Nau mai, tauti mai ki Te Pōhā Mātauraka o Murihiku.
Ko tēnei mātou o kā Rūnaka o Waihōpai,
Awarua me Ōraka Aparima hoki e whakakotahi nei i raro i te korowai o te mātauraka.
E noho ana nei kā wāwata, kā moemoeā o te haukāika.
Kuhu mai!

Te Pōhā Mātauraka o Murihiku is a rūnaka-led, educational base for localised mātauraka. A collaboration between Waihōpai, Awarua and Ōraka Aparima Rūnaka, it will be the educational contact point for schools to support, promote and preserve mātauraka Māori in Murihiku.

Our Waihōpai, Awarua & Ōraka Aparima Rūnaka leaders & whānau have directed the learning to specific narratives and decided what can and should be shared within Kura, ensuring that the knowledge passed on is both culturally accurate and respectful.

The Te Pōhā Programme is an optional educational investment offered to schools who come within the boundaries of the Waihōpai, Awarua & Ōraka Aparima Rūnaka.
